Mr. Murthuraman joined Tata Steel in 1966 as a Graduate Trainee. On completion of training, he worked in the areas of Iron-making and Engineering Development for ten years and then moved to the Marketing & Sales Division and spent nearly twenty years there. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Governors of Xavier Labour Relations Institiute, Jamshedpur, and the National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur. Mr. Muthuraman has also nominated as the Chairman of the Board of Governors of IIT Kharagpur by the Honourable President of India, Mrs. Pratibha Patil. Mr. Murthuraman is the Chairman of Board of Governors, Xavier Labour Relations Institute in Jamshedpur and also the Chairman of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur. In addition to this Mr. Muthuraman is a National Council Member of Confederation of Indian Industry. He is a Member of Business Advisory Council of Economic and Social Commission for ASIA and the Pacific (UNESCAP). Serving as the Director of International Iron and Steel Institute (IISI), Brussels, he has also been conferred the Honorary Fellowship of All India Management Association on 6 September 2007. His vision to grow TATA Steel to a 100 MT company is now taking fruit and is well underway with the acquisition of Corus.

TV commercial from The Economist in India The purpose of the commercial is to emphasise the thought that The Economist brings to life connections between world events that may not be overtly apparent and helps to interpret those connections. The film itself is based on the fact that a number of Chinese firms send workers from China to work in various projects in India. The film creatively expresses the connection that growing India-China projects may tomorrow lead to Chinese children learning Hindi, the main language spoken in India.

He is said to be a very honest officer. He has been missing under most mysterious circumstances for the last two and half months from his government accommodation in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. The family strongly believes that Anand Prakash has been kidnapped by someone in a most planned and calculated manner as in his last conversation with his wife on 19.08.2009, he told her that there is a possible threat to his life due to his decision to unearth the corruption and irregularities of the senior officials of PWD, Uttarkashi. In addition, the acts, pre- and post-incidence, of the concerned officials of the PWD and that of the local police are sufficient enough to confirm familys suspicion about the existence of criminal conspiracy behind the abduction and possible murder of Anand Prakash. IIM Calcutta and XLRI Jamshedpur - two premier known business schools in eastern India clash every year for a much-anticipated sports meet. Incidentally, that is also the time when the campus cultures at both these schools stoop to their lowest. This is a video of women students from IIM Calcutta 'welcoming' the XLRI Jamshedpur team. If you're thinking that this happens in the heat of the competition, wait up. We're told by IIM Calcutta students, that the women students are formally coached by a stalwart from the second year in the skill of the most tasteless abusing months prior to the event. With a lot of glee, a few XLRI students and alumni tell us that they pay IIM Calcutta back in the same way.
